Day +453 – Logic versus Intuition

I have been thinking a lot lately about what guides our behavior.  It seems to me that there can be various means to achieve action.  For me, I seem to have this inner struggle between doing something because I am led by my logic (mental) processes versus my intuition (“gut feeling”).

What predominates my actions a lot of the time seems to be that “gut feeling”, because it just “feels” right.  Then there are those moments when I have to be really clever and figure out a broken process, system, or derive a solution and then the logical mind kicks in and analyzation occurs.

However, I now wonder if we can actually process in unison different motivators towards action?  Can we act with both logical reasoning as well as that “inner voice”?  Is there a harmonious blend?  I feel that given a typical day, my breakdown of decisions and actions could be split this way: 75% intuition and 25% logical.  But, is that just because my “gut feeling” is the stronger force during those times and not exclusively the only process going on?  Questions, questions.

The reason for this internal debate is a sound one; is it better to think through things prior to action, or just go “with the flow”?  Or, should be balance both and “go with the flow” while maintaining logical reasoning and awareness so as not to stray off course?  Check out the poll below and let us know your thoughts!
